CIDR and Applicator.
The small silastic T-shaped Controlled Internal Drug Release (CIDR) device is permeated with progestin. The flexible horizontal arms of the device can be folded together as an extension of the shaft and then inserted into the cylindrical portion of the applicator for insertion into the vagina of the ewe. The curved string at the end of the shaft is left sticking out of the vulva for ease of removal of the device.
