Amputation of Retained Front Leg.

Amputation of Retained Front Leg.
Even after removal of the head, it may still not be possible to retrieve a forelimb that is retained at the shoulder. In such a case the wire may be placed around the shoulder through the axilla. After severing the leg, the shoulder joint may be grasped with the obstetrical tongs and extracted.
